In Rebecca’s words: When the doctor first asked me (Rebecca) to have the youngest evaluated at the age of 2, because he wasn’t speaking, I simply chalked it up to him being a boy. I knew in my heart that wasn’t really the case. When he was two and half, I couldn’t ignore it any longer and the local school district evaluated him.  At the time, I had a great amount of guilt, believing I had done something to cause all this. The evaluator quickly helped me to change my thinking. She said to me that I would never know what caused his issues and that it didn’t really matter. What did matter was what I did from this point on. It was then and there that I chose to do whatever I had to do for him and never look back. Both Ken and I put in long hours on homework, tutoring, therapies, and doctor’s appointments to make sure both boys get the appropriate care they need. We understand that this can be exhausting and financially draining. It was by accident we discovered the Brain Train software and have found it to be an important part in our sons (and other’s) progress.

We believe that God gave us these two children for a reason. Our experiences with our own children have certainly given us a unique perspective on therapies, doctors, diets, and medications that many parents/teachers do not have knowledge of. Our experiences, some more painful than others, have all helped us to become better educators and parents - we strive to understand both the needs of the student and parent.

If any of this sounds familiar, give us a call. We specialize in difficult cases and find these children to be our greatest joys!
